Heavy metals in traditional Indian remedies

摘要: The growing popularity of traditional Indian remedies necessitates a critical evaluation risks associated with their use. This systematic review aims at summarising all available data relating to the heavy metal content in such remedies. Computerised literature searches were carried out identify articles original on this subject. Fifteen case reports and six series found. Their collective results suggest that metals, particularly lead, have been regular constituent has repeatedly caused serious harm patients taking incidence contamination is not known, but one study shows 64% samples collected India contained significant amounts lead (64% mercury, 41% arsenic 9% cadmium).
