摘要: This paper explores the idea that cognitive state during problem solving diagrams is bi-modal, one of whose components traditional predicate-symbolic representation composed relations between entities in domain interest, while a second component an internal diagrammatic representation. In parallel with operators symbolic are based on symbol matching and inferencing, there set apply perceptions to elements diagram generate information. addition construction operations may modify by adding, deleting modifying elements, service goals. We describe design architecture, show how modes collaborate solution problem. end view as multi-modal, consonance our own phenomenal sense experiencing world multiple modalities using these senses problems.
