摘要: Abstract The configurational stability of the free surface a liquid bridge in form catenoid between two coaxial, equal, parallel, circular end plates is investigated for case where external fields are negligible. Using calculus variations, it shown that unstable ratios plate separation to neck diameter greater than 2·23918017 …, and stable smaller ratios. This result also applies corresponding problem soap film joining edges plates. These problems, volume enclosed by constant, have been confused with determining perforated (or wire rings), there no constraint on volume. solutions constrained unconstrained problems discussed. In addition, experiments resembling those Terquem were performed using films, theoretical prediction confirmed. By an easy application our method, classical cylindrical obtained.
