摘要: Folding sheets from flat sheet materials into 3D surfaces provides a way to form textured with deep relief, without stretching the base material. Manufacturing can therefore be done using only low-energy bending operations along fold lines. An important challenge overcome in manufacturing process is significant in-plane biaxial contraction during folding process. A novel herein introduced, which uses cold gas-pressure and requires minimum of initial tooling. Calculations were determine required forming pressure an example folded sheet, Miura-ori compared trials.
