Spontaneous retinal changes in Sprague Dawley rats.

摘要: Routine ophthalmological examination of over 6,000 untreated Crl:CD(SD)BR rats up to 2 years old, used in toxicologic studies from 1989 1992, has provided information on spontaneous retinal changes and their incidence with age. Focal linear retinopathy coloboma were the most common findings; hemorrhage, saccular aneurysm vessels, fold, absence optic disk vascularization, myelination nerve fibers also observed. Such accumulated data animals are prime necessity assessing possible drug- chemical-induced effects eye after either systemic or local exposure.
