摘要: Bio-based polyurethane materials are broadly applied in medicine as drug delivery systems. Nevertheless, their synthesis comprises the use of petroleum-based toxic amines, isocyanates and polyols, biocompatibility or functionalization is limited. Therefore, lysine residues amine sources to create non-isocyanate urethane (NIU) linkages was investigated. a five-membered biscyclic carbonate (BCC) firstly synthetized reacted with protected lysine, tripeptide heptapeptide confirm linkage formation moiety optimize reaction conditions. Afterwards, reactions between BCC model protein, elastin-like protein (ELP), β-Lactoglobulin (BLG) obtained from whey respectively, were performed. The synthesized structural, thermally morphologically characterized formation. results demonstrate that using both simple more complex source amines (lysine), effectively achieved. This pioneering approach opens possibility proteins develop polyurethanes (NIPUs) tailored properties.
