摘要: Background: Eight human catalytic phosphoino- sitide 3-kinase (PI3K) isoforms exist which are subdivided into three classes. While class I have been well- studied in cancer, little is known about the functions of II PI3Ks. Materials and Methods: The expression pattern PI3KC2β isoform were investigated a panel tumour samples cell lines. Results: Overexpression was found subsets tumours lines from acute myeloid leukemia (AML), glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), medulloblastoma (MB), neuroblastoma (NB), small lung cancer (SCLC). Specific pharmacological inhibitors or RNA interference impaired proliferation primary cultures. Inhibition also induced apoptosis sensitised cells to chemotherapeutic agents. Conclusion: Together, these data show that contributes survival AML, brain neuroendocrine tumours, may represent novel target malignancies.
