The Structure of High-Angle Grain Boundaries in Aluminium

摘要: A transmission electron-microscopy study of high-angle grain boundaries has been made. When thin foils are cut in precisely oriented bicrystals aluminium, some details the grain-boundary structure appear. Micrographs symmetrical tilt around [001] show linear defects parallel to axis. Their properties tightly bound geometry bicrystal: this provides a good support idea transitional lattice as boundary. theoretical interpretation these observations is developed essentially on geometrical considerations.
