摘要: Abstract Approximately 28% of the Mexican population has intestinal parasites. Oncologic patients receiving chemotherapy should have a coproparasitoscopic study to avoid disseminated parasitic infections. The frequency parasites, including Cryptosporidium and Isospora, was evaluated in 100 diarrheic (DS) formed stools (FS) from adult recently diagnosed with cancer, using wet mounts stained Kinyoun, saccharose ZnSO4 procedures Lugol's iodine. Seven DS three FS had more than one parasite. Pathogenic parasites were seen 26% 15% FS. Of frequent Entamoeba histolytica found 12 2 (p = 0.01), Giardia lamblia six Hymenolepis nana eight 10 Other pathogenic only DS: sp. five patients, Ascaris lumbricoides two, Strongyloides stercoralis two Isospora one. identified by Kinyoun while other flotation procedures. Since (3%) our coccidia, laboratory must perform special techniques for their detection. In epidemiologic settings where there is high prevalence infections studies be performed antiparasitic treatment provided before starting chemotherapy.
