摘要: Abstract Plants can uptake potentially toxic elements from the soil and accumulate them in roots or translocate to aerial parts. Excessive content of these edible parts produce effects and, through food chain consumption, result a potential hazard for human health. In this study soils plants (Triticum aestivum L. Zea mays L.) tannery district North-East Italy were analyzed determine harmful (Al, Ca, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Ni, P, Pb, S, Zn V). According national legislation, area is contaminated by Zn, Cd V. The distribution contaminants along profile shows general tendency metal accumulation at surface as expected anthropogenically enriched sites. Major anthropogenic origin was detected Ni (from industrial activities), agriculture practices). nutrients (K, P S) some micronutrients (Cu, Mg Mn) are easily absorbed translocated, while other (Ca, Al, Pb V) not accumulated seeds two considered species. However, species proved differently able absorb elements, suggests consider separately every PHEs transporter humans. Chromium concentrations examined higher than values found same cereals grown on unpolluted soils. Comparing Cr levels with recommended dietary intake, besides possible sources (dust ingestion, water), there seems be no health risk animal breeding population due consumption wheat maize area.
