摘要: This study was designed to determine the extent which alluvial and bedrock gold mining activities in Kette-Batouri region of Eastern Cameroon are responsible for discharge potentially harmful elements (PHEs) into natural water bodies. is considered be great public concern, since elevated levels PHEs these bodies, widely used domestic purposes, could have adverse health environmental effects on population nearby ecosystems. The investigation bodies this area conducted ascertain toxicity posed by mine waste stockpiles as data from literature subject scarce. Forty-two samples were analysed some 60 ICP-OES, 22 that not below detection limit further analysis. Maximum total concentrations As, Cr, Pb, V Zn above World Health Organization (WHO) maximum allowable concentration (MAC) follows (μg l-1): As (21.90-50.9); Cr (1.80-57.30); Pb (0.50-34.70); (24.70-77.20) (3.10-481.70). information consistent with our recent research efforts indicated moderate pollution heavy metals soils a slight deterioration site quality region. generated important formulation management strategies recommendations remediation at abandoned sites meeting standards.
