摘要: OBJECTIVES: Local recurrence after transanal excision of rectal cancer is often amenable to salvage radical proctectomy, but the long-term results remain unknown. This study was designed determine outcome surgery failed local in patients with early cancer. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed charts 29 who underwent for a full-thickness Stage I End points included and distant recurrences disease-free survival surgery. Comparisons between groups were performed by chi-squared test. RESULTS: Recurrence involved wall 26 (90 percent) purely extrarectal only 3 (10 percent). Mean time operation months. The resection considered curative 23 (79 stage recurrent tumor more advanced than primary 27 (93 At mean follow-up 39 (range, 2–147) months surgery, 17 (59 remained free disease. rate 68 percent tumors favorable histology vs. unfavorable histology. CONCLUSION: Salvage cancers may not provide equivalent those initial treatment. In present poor emphasize importance appropriate selection treatment
