摘要: According to many theoretical accounts, reinstating study context at the time of test creates optimal circumstances for item retrieval. The role reinstatement was tested in reference memory several experiments. On encoding phase, participants were presented with words printed two different font colors (intrinsic context) or sides computer screen (extrinsic context). At test, reinstated changed and asked recognize recollect their context. Moreover, a read-generate manipulation introduced retrieval, which intended influence relative salience information. results showed that had no effect on extrinsic but affected intrinsic when generated read test. These supported hypothesis information is reconstructed retrieval only poorly encoded study.
