摘要: There is paucity of data on seasonal variation in pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) developing countries contrary to recognized seasonality the TB notification western societies. This study examined pattern diagnosis among migrant workers from entering Kuwait. Monthly aggregates results for consecutive migrants tested between January I, 1997 and December 31, 2006 were analyzed. We assessed amplitude (α) sinusoidal oscillation time at which maximum (θ°) cases detected using Edwards' test. The adequacy hypothesized curve was by χ 2 goodness-of-fit During 10 year period, proportion (per 100,000) 198 (4608/2328582), (95% confidence interval: 192 – 204). adjusted mean monthly number 384. Based observed data, expected during last week April (θ° = 112°; P < 0.001). (± se) (α 0.204 ± 0.04) simple harmonic showed 20.4% difference cases. peak low ratio 1.51 CI: 1.39 1.65). goodness-of-test revealed that there no significant (P > 0.1) departure frequencies fitted curve. Seasonal component explained 55% total proportions (100,000) migrants. regularity case detection may prove useful institute measures warrant a better attendance Public health authorities consider re-allocation resources period minimize risk Mycobacterium infection close contacts this comparable settings region having similar influx immigrants high burden countries. Epidemiological surveillance subsequent years required chemotherapy contribute global efforts control public menace.
