摘要: PURPOSE To evaluate the impact of bilateral primary glaucoma on glaucoma-specific functioning in Asians. METHODS Patients with open-angle (POAG) and angle-closure (PACG) aged 40 years or above Chinese ethnicity Singapore were recruited. All underwent a comprehensive clinical assessment glaucoma. Glaucoma was diagnosed standard criteria including optic disc abnormality visual field defect. The Quality Life-15, questionnaire, used to glaucoma, Rasch analysis validate Life-15. RESULTS A total 192 patients (mean±SD age, 65.73±17.6 y 65.1% male) recruited, which 56.2% (n=108) 43.8% (n=84) had POAG PACG, respectively. Fifty-four (28.1%), 85 (44.3%), 53 (27.6%) mild 1 eye moderate/severe other, In multivariate analyses, compared both eyes, those (a) other; (b) reported significantly poorer (β-coefficient=-8.20; confidence interval, -14.36 -2.04; P<0.05) (β=-21.05; -28.06 -14.04; P<0.05), similar independent association found for PACG. These associations also considered be clinically significant while comparing We however, no difference severity between PACG (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Bilateral is worse than form any associated poor this Singaporean sample. data emphasize need strategies identify early prevent deterioration beyond condition.
