摘要: Background: Monogenean flatworms are the main ectoparasites of fishes. Representatives species-rich families Gyrodactylidae and Dactylogyridae, especially those infecting cichlid fishes clariid catfishes, important parasites in African aquaculture, even more so due to massive anthropogenic translocation their hosts worldwide. Several questions on evolution, such as phylogenetic position Macrogyrodactylus highly speciose Gyrodactylus, remain unresolved with available molecular markers. Also, diagnostics population-level research would benefit from development higher-resolution genetic We aim advance work monogeneans by providing mitogenomic data four species (two each belonging Dactylogyridae), analysing gene sequences order a perspective. Results: Based Illumina technology, first mitochondrial genomes were assembled annotated for Gyrodactylus nyanzae, Cichlidogyrus halli, mbirizei (near-complete mitogenome) catfish parasite karibae mitogenome). The start codon TTG is new incomplete stop TA Dactylogyridae. most variable markers nad genes these under relaxed selection. Especially nad2 promising primer development. Gene was identical protein-coding differed between representatives only tRNA transposition. A phylogeny based an alignment nearly 12,500 bp including 12 two ribosomal RNA confirms that Neotropical oviparous Aglaiogyrodactylus forficulatus takes sister group respect other gyrodactylids, rather than supposedly 9primitive9 Macrogyrodactylus. Inclusion nyanzae paraphyly Gyrodactylus. dactylogyrid unresolved, although suggests it closely related marine ancyrocephalines. Conclusions: amount gyrodactylids dactylogyrids increased roughly one-third. Our study underscores potential flatworm phylogenetics, next-generation sequencing marker non-model helminths which few primers while they constitute risk tropical aquaculture.
