摘要: There is an increasing amount of literature pointing to a relationship between sexual and/or physical abuse history and poor health status although few studies provide evidence concerning which aspects may impact on health. In female patients with gastrointestinal (GI) disorders the present study examined effects of: 1) 2) invasiveness or seriousness 3) age at first abuse. The sample included 239 from referral gastroenterology clinic who were interviewed assess history. authors found following: 66.5% experienced some type abuse; women had more pain non-GI somatic symptoms bed disability days lifetime surgeries psychological distress functional compared those without also worse outcome most indicators; 4) rape (intercourse) life-threatening seem have than less serious violence involving attempts touch; 5) in childhood did not appear differ whose was as adults. conclude that asking about should be integrated into taking within referral-based practices.
