摘要: A survey is presented of the different aspects gelation in polymeric materials with purpose highlighting basic processes and underlying principles that can lead to gel formation. It illustrated specific examples, largely arising from author's own experiences or associations, chosen so as provide representative a sampling wide-ranging subject area possible. Within wider overall framework emphasis given physical gelation, especially where this arises through phase separation. In latter respect hierarchical relation both resulting structures thermodynamic stabilities, rather metastabilities, prominence, together its further reaching implications which extend also beyond confines gels.
