摘要: Photoelectrochemical water splitting is a promising and environmentally friendly route for the conversion of solar energy into hydrogen. However, efficiency this process low because limited light absorption rapid bulk recombination charge carriers. In study, combination novel ternary sensitizer AgFeS2 , having narrow bandgap 0.9 eV, with BiVO4 electrode presented enhancement solar-energy-to-hydrogen efficiency. The photoelectrochemical properties combined material were investigated photocurrent densities -BiVO4 composite electrodes greatly enhanced compared pristine (15 times higher at 0.6 V vs. Ag/AgCl under AM 1.5G illumination). arise from extended absorption, fast transfer appropriate gap alignment. It was demonstrated that nanowires are inorganic sensitizers improving splitting.
