摘要: In the last 2 decades, endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery has become most popular choice of neurosurgeons and otolaryngologists to treat lesions skull base, with minimal invasiveness, lower incidence complications, morbidity mortality rates compared traditional approaches. The route is surgical approach for sellar tumors because relationship sphenoid bone nasal cavity below pituitary gland above. More recently, extended approaches have expanded indications by using different corridors leading specific target areas, from crista galli spinomedullary junction. Computer-assisted an evolving technology that allows real-time anatomic navigation during linking preoperative triplanar radiologic images intraoperative views, thus helping surgeon avoid damage vital structures. Preoperative computed tomography preferred modality show landmarks vascular Radiologists play important role in planning reporting extension pneumatization, recesses septations sinus, other relevant variants. should understand relationships base structures, variants, image-guided neuronavigation techniques prevent complications allow effective treatment approach.
