摘要: In the order Kinetoplastida, genetic exchange has been demonstrated only in genus Trypanosoma. Analysis of kinetoplast DNA (kDNA) crosses T. brucei shown that whereas maxicircles are inherited uniparentally, minicircles from both parents. This result was confirmed for a new cross b. and rhodesiense by restriction enzyme digestion Southern analysis purified kDNA. By hybridisation with small minicircle-derived probes, we could demonstrate presence particular parental kDNA hybrid progeny clones. All clones had two one parent despite four having other parent. The results suggest rather than small-scale between networks, gross breakdown reassembly minicircle network occurs during exchange.
