摘要: Detarium microcarpum is a valuable tree species for fuelwood, timber, food and medicine in sub-Saharan Africa. However, its population dwindling due to overexploitation, seedlings’ low survival rate slow growth. Vegetative propagation might enhance both growth, but date successful clonal method does not exist D. microcarpum. We conducted four experiments examine the effects of environment (high versus humidity), cutting length diameter, alignment root segments (horizontal vertical) distance from collar donors on regeneration ability collected field-grown trees Burkina Faso. The size significantly affected their ability, while had no effect. Sprouting was possible 10 20-cm long 15‐60 mm diameter with 7‐43% sprouting efficiency multiple shoots 5 cm were unsuitable 0‐3% efficiency. Cuttings maintained at humidity produced larger sprouts than those greenhouse. All cuttings showed strong polarity most developing proximal end. Rootlings 20 more new roots (0.62 ± 0.08 g) (0.34 0.09 g), they similar sprout leaf conclude that lateral mature can be used produce rootlings nursery. Since this study first attempt propagate cuttings, further investigations are required optimize technique.
