High-Temperature Oxidation and Wear Behavior of (Fe,Cr)Al Intermetallic Compound and (Fe,Cr)Al-Al 2 O 3 Nanocomposites

摘要: In the current study, oxidation and wear resistance of FeAl (Fe,Cr)Al intermetallic compounds as well (Fe,Cr)Al-5%vol Al2O3 (Fe,Cr)Al-10%vol nanocomposites were investigated. Ball-milled powders hot-pressed at 5.5 GPa 1600 °C for 15 min in order to produce bulk samples. The cyclic test was performed 1100 100h. High-temperature tests conducted 400 with loads 20 N sliding speed distance 0.1 m/s 500 m, respectively. Furthermore, nano-scratch single-direction pass return modes a maximum load mN. Results showed that compound had superior lowest kp value same time. improved performance compared (Fe,Cr)Al-Al2O3 composites can be due presence more Al sample. According test, nanocomposite (with H/E ratio 0.036) best resistance. On other hand, containing 5% 10% friction coefficient (≈ 0.6 0.3, respectively). main mechanism adhesive wear, while, delamination samples nanoparticles. Although formation reinforcement nanoparticles somewhat decreases resistance, it also resulted significant overall improvement behavior.
