摘要: We used paired-pulse odorant stimulation, with a conditioning stimulus delivered either ipsilateral or contralateral to test stimulus, unmask the effects of centrifugal feedback on olfactory bulb responses. In reptiles and mammals there are no direct connections between paired bulbs, thus all information transfer bulbs depends from retrobulbar structures. measured odor-induced activity in turtle using voltage-sensitive dye 464-element photodiode array, which allowed us monitor spatial variation activation bulb. found that both stimuli evoked long-lasting inhibition activation. contrast previous studies local field potential recording at single site, we this increased patterning over dorsal surface Inhibition was also when different odorants were as stimuli, suggesting role for discrimination. These results highlight functional importance processing broadly distributed network.
