摘要: The suitability of high temperature techniques was investigated by finite element analysis modelling to give a qualitative view how the thermal picture develops under diamond indenter without controlled heating diamond. In case low-conductivity sample such as fused silica, gradient below tip is relatively diffuse, whereas with high-conductivity gold, most able equilibrate at set temperature, leading very steep in volume material that must accommodate deformation. However, both cases indentation occurring lower, and unknown, than bulk sample. results model are validated comparing obtained either indirectly contact or utilising separate heater for (an isothermal method).
