摘要: Abstract Photosensitization processes are used in a variety of medical applications. In photodynamic therapy (PDT) cancer and other diseases, the treatment relies on combination light tumor-localizing drug (called photosensitizer). The drug-light interaction results sequence chemical biochemical processes, which cause irreversible damage to target tissue. this introductory chapter, we review fundamental physical principles molecular photochemistry, pertinent for understanding primary photosensitization. nature how it interacts with molecules, generation excited states by activation photosensitizer subsequent (Type I Type II) reactions undergone these described discussed along different diagnostic methods currently available investigation photosensitization mechanisms.
