摘要: This chapter provides an overall understanding of the design aspects Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). A MAC protocol shares wireless broadcast medium among sensor nodes and creates a basic network infrastructure them to communicate with each other. It also has direct influence on lifetime WSNs as it controls activities radio, which is most power-consuming component resource-scarce nodes. In this chapter, we first discuss basics present set important attributes. Subsequently, main categories proposed highlight their strong weak points. After briefly outlining different falling in category, provide substantial comparison these several parameters. Lastly, future research directions open issues field that have mostly been overlooked.
