摘要: This study examines the prospects for strong growth in supply and demand animal products worldwide, especially developing countries, where 80% of world's population lives. Based on scientific publications, statistics field observations, it reviews greenhouse gas emission levels from livestock, ability ruminant livestock systems to sequester carbon capacity industry meet challenge sustainable development share its benefits while minimising impacts climate change. Special attention is paid situation 800 million farmers world living at extreme end poverty. The underlines importance improving productivity interdependence economic, environmental social components development. It highlights how, least developed countries most lower-middle-income pressure exerted by diseases hampers efforts improve productivity.
