A preliminary test of the role of experiential avoidance in post-event functioning

摘要: Experiential avoidance is the unwillingness to experience unwanted thoughts, emotions, or bodily sensations and an individual's attempts alter, avoid, escape those experiences. The aim of current studies was broaden previous research indicating that experiential often leads development maintenance psychological distress. Results indicated significantly correlated with distress post-traumatic symptomatology over above other measures functioning. Limitations implications for treatment prevention are discussed.
