Responses of intraepithelial lymphocytes to T-cell mitogens: a comparison between murine and porcine responses.

摘要: Intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) were isolated from the small intestine of pigs. They showed a strong blastogenic response to T-cell mitogens phytohaemagglutinin A (PHA), concanavalin (Con A) and pokeweed mitogen (PWM); in contrast, mouse IEL responded weakly these mitogens. The pig was age-dependent, reaching adult levels by 9 weeks age. Early weaning pigs delayed onset this response. effects inflammatory mediators on also examined.
