摘要: In this study, we used Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy (MIRS) to analyze the biochemical fingerprints of nine termite colonies (soldiers, minor and major workers). We then examined whether these spectra could be differentiate if their differences explained by geographical distances between and/or ages. demonstrated that when only data from heads workers were considered, specific fingerprint each colony appeared reflect its coordinate position in study site. However, mound height, a proxy for age, was main factor governing signatures abdomen used. Thus, shows potential MIRS differentiating field. It also highlights close relationship physiological states environment.
