摘要: This study examined the ability of Ajzen's (1988; 1991) Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) to explain men's cessation violent behavior. TPB suggests that a man's intention abuse his female partner, and therefore subsequent abusive behavior will be determined by: (1) evaluation possible outcomes (attitudes toward behavior); (2) perception expectations others around him concerning violence (3) degree which he believes can control Pretest self-report measures from men follow-up recidivism data based on partner report were available for 176 cases drawn previous conducted by Harrell (1991). Reliable proxy variables (intentions/expectations use violence, attitudes behavior, social norms, perceived behavioral control) created. Regression analyses testing model provided modest support prediction reabuse Of variables, appeared most important in understanding batterers' intentions their Refinement measurements need additional modifications are discussed.
