Use of Regurgitated Pellets of Barn Owl (Tyto alba) for Inventorying Small Mammals in the Cerrado of Central Brazil

摘要: Analysis of regurgitated pellets one barn owl (Tyto alba ; Strigiformes, Tytonidae) collected in the Cerrado central Brazil yielded remains 12 vertebrate species comprising eight rodents, two marsupials, passerine bird and lizard. A survey small mammals same region with 3,367 trap nights revealed 11 rodent marsupial species. Seven 16 mammal found were sampled by both methods. Two not captured traps while four showing that these methods are complementary.
