摘要: Ontology, in its original philosophical sense, is a fundamental branch of metaphysics focusing on the study existence; objective to determine what entities and types actually exist thus structure world. In contrast, computer science an ontology engineering artifact, usually “conceptual model” (some aspect of) world, typically formalised as logical theory. Formalising using suitable logic opens up possibility automated reasoning support both design deployment. The value such has already been demonstrated medical applications, where it used help repair enrich ontologies that play important role patient care.Even with aid enabled tools, developing maintaining good quality difficult costly task, problems related availability threaten limit deployment ontology-based information systems. This resulted engineers increasingly looking philosophy community for possible solutions, particular source relevant expertise organisation formalisation knowledge.
