摘要: SUMMARY The incidence of congenital toxoplasmosis was determined by an ELISA in the litters BALB/c mice which had been infected 8 weeks before mating, on day 12 pregnancy, or both these occasions. Of those given infection for first time 5 out 6 gave birth to with approximately 50 % individuals each litter being infected. mating did not give litters, even if they were reinfected pregnancy. Following found harbour significantly fewer tissue cysts than congenic H-2 derivative BALB/K strain. However, chronically also failed produce indicating that cyst burden dam influence at least BALB background. This study demonstrates dams Toxoplasma gondii, have immunity capable protecting their embryos from infection, are during Our results demonstrate mouse can be used as a model human ovine T. gondii suitable testing putative vaccines.
