摘要: The Migidae are a family of austral trapdoor spiders known to show highly restricted and disjunct distribution pattern. Here, we aim investigate the phylogeny historical biogeography group, which was previously thought be vicariant in origin, examine biogeographic origins genus Moggridgea using dated multi-gene phylogeny. specimens were sampled from southern Australia Africa, Bertmainus Western Australia. Sanger sequencing methods used generate robust six marker molecular dataset consisting nuclear genes 18S rRNA, 28S ITS XPNPEP3 H3 mitochondrial gene COI. Bayesian Maximum Likelihood analyse dataset, key dispersal nodes BEAST. Based on our data, demonstrate that rainbowi Kangaroo Island, is valid member otherwise African Moggridgea. Molecular clock dating analyses inter-specific divergence M. congeners between 2.27-16.02 million years ago (Mya). This date significantly post-dates separation Africa Gondwana (95 Mya) therefore does not support origin for Australian It also pre-dates human colonisation result further supported by intra-specific 1.10-6.39 Mya separate populations Island. These provide strong hypothesis colonised via long-distance trans-Indian Ocean dispersal, representing first such documented case mygalomorph spider.
