摘要: Using a simple, inexpensive, at-home program, 12 patients with moderate-to-severe chronic air flow limitation trained their inspiratory muscles. All showed increased muscle endurance no change in strength. Seven of the twelve time for submaximal exercise beyond 90% confidence limits determined by 2 pretraining tests (i.e., more than 40% increase time). The same group 7 maximal power output (p less 0.005) and peak oxygen uptake 0.05) on progressive test after months training distance walked min both 1 training. In 6 this group, were accompanied electromyographic changes heralding fatigue. Their post-training was associated delay or absence these changes. other 5 patients, who performance training, fatigue never observed tests. We concluded that although muscles airflow is increased, specific usually improved only those demonstrate during exercise.
