摘要: Substrate preferences of juvenile, hatchery-reared lake sturgeon, Acipenser fulvescens, from a Wisconsin population were examined relative to water temperature and velocity, fish size time day. Given the choice sand, gravel, rock or smooth plastic bottom, all sturgeon strongly attracted sand substrate. Water did not affect substrate preference, however small (13.5 cm mean FL) acclimated 19°C more active than those tested in 6°C water. Small under conditions, less sedentary early morning late evening hours during daytime. Preference for was slightly stronger when current 5 sec-1 present. preference larger (24.3 affected by any parameters examined. In general, showed similar behaviors (with respect selection) as previously described same wild, making it possible that have genetic component likely hatchery rearing does alter instinctive behavior.
