摘要: The numerous protozoa that can inhabit the human gastro-intestinal tract are known, yet little is understood of viruses which infect these protozoa. discovery, morphologic details, purification methods virus-like particles, genome and proteome parasitic viruses, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, Trichomonas vaginalis, Eimeria sp. described in this review. protozoan share many common features: most them RNA or double-stranded ranging between 5 8 kilobases, spherical icosahedral shape with an average diameter 30-40 nm. These may influence function pathogenicity they infect, be important to investigate from a clinical perspective. used as specific genetic transfection vectors for parasites represent research tool. This review provides overview on recent advances field viruses.
