摘要: The course and outcomes of mental illness are hampered by stigma discrimination. Research on controllability attributions has mapped the relationships between signaling events, mediating stigma, emotional reactions, discriminating behavior. In this article, I describe how an attribution model advances research questions related to health in three areas. (1) Stigma needs examine events psychiatric including label illness, behaviors associated with symptoms, physical appearance. (2) into knowledge structures bridge information about public attitudes dangerousness self-care. (3) Ways which these lead reactions (pity, anger, fear) as well behavioral responses (helping punishing behaviors) need be examined. significant implications for social change strategies that seek decrease
