Childhood fussy/picky eating behaviours: a systematic review and synthesis of qualitative studies.

摘要: Fussy/picky eating behaviours are common across childhood. Recent reviews of the fussy literature focus on quantitative research and do not adequately account for families’ subjective experiences, perceptions practices. This review aims to synthesise increasing volume qualitative work eating. A systematic search relevant databases was carried out. Studies were included if they qualitative, published since 2008, with a primary practices regarding eating, food neophobia, or refusal in children (aged one young adult). clinical samples, relating under one year excluded. Ten studies eligible this synthesised using meta-ethnography (developed by Noblit Hare). provides comprehensive description definition behaviours. conceptual model family experience developed, illustrating relationships between child characteristics (including behaviours), parent feeding beliefs, practices, mealtime emotions awareness preference development. Our synthesis identified two ways which relates (directly via practices) three distinct categories beliefs that relate (self-efficacy, attributions about hunger regulation).
