摘要: Abstract Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) performance with a cross-linked poly (vinyl alcohol)/sulfosuccinic acid (PVA/SSA) polymer is compared Nafion ® N-115 polymer. In this study, PVA/SSA (≈5 wt. % SSA) membranes are synthesized by solution casting technique. These polymers and used as electrolytes ionomers in catalyst layers, to fabricate different electrode assemblies (MEAs) for PEMFCs. Properties of each MEA evaluated using scanning electron microscopy, contact angle measurements, impedance spectroscopy hydrogen pumping I–V characteristics H 2 –O testing fixture under operating conditions. ionomer causes only an additional ≈4% loss the anode ionomer. The maximum power density obtained from based cells range 99 117.4 mW cm −2 current 247 293.4 mA cm . Ionic conductivity more sensitive state hydration MEA, while less MEA. Maximum about 35% that cell. From these results, identified potential candidate
