摘要: Simulations of digital imaging systems based on scintillator screens usually employ a Poisson model for the phosphor conversion gain. However, statistics scintillation output are determined by complex phenomena that involve many sources variability including inhomogeneities in crystalline and screen structure, variations deposited energy each primary quantum available excitation, relationship between radiate non-radiative decay processes, dependencies gain variance, spread secondary quanta. We use combined x-ray/electron/optical Monte Carlo code to study columnar phosphors. The simulation is result merging x-ray transport PENELOPE optical DETECT-II. Using an improved geometric we present results concerning pulse-height spectra (and corresponding Swank factors) as function energy. This improves our understanding underlying causes should facilitate more accurate efforts investigation optimization image acquisition screens.
