No emotional fever in toads

摘要: Abstract Four Bufo marinus toads and one Bombina bombina toad were placed individually along a temperature gradient where they could regulate their body through behavioral means. When injected intraperitoneally with killed Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, the sought heat raised core temperature. Gentle handling by experimenter, however, was not followed heat-seeking behavior rising These findings confirm existence of fever, but emotional in species studied.
