摘要: From stellar evolution simulations (using MESA) we conclude that the fatal common envelope (CEE) channel for formation of Type IIb core collapse supernova (SN IIb) progenitors can indeed account some SNe IIb. In CEE a low mass main sequence secondary star inspirals inside giant massive primary and removes most before it merges with core. The key ingredient scenario studied here is tidally destroyed forms new envelope. mass-loss process in wind during from merger until collapse, i.e., explosion, leaves little hydrogen at explosion as inferred observations case zero age M(ZAMS)=16Mo its phase swallows M2=0.5Mo, find M(H)=0.02-0.09Mo, depending on rotation assume.
