Whether these changes will undermine national-level food security depends upon the ability of small-scale farmers that dominate rice production and institutions support them to overcome challenges presented by changing availability. Analyzing household survey data, this research identifies household, institutional, agroecological factors influence how water-stressed are working adapt conditions strategies they employ impact yields. Paralleling studies conducted elsewhere, we identified institutional as particularly relevant farmer adaptation decisions. Notably, our farmers’ use hybrid seed varietals only local climate strategy positively correlate with These findings provide insight into additional pertinent successful agricultural offer encouraging evidence for policies promote plant breeding distribution Lanka a means buffer system change-exacerbated drought.
