摘要: A process and a catalyst reaction zone comprising one or more fixed bed reactors for oxidizing methanol in reactant gas feed stream to formaldehyde. According embodiment, the comprises introducing into an upstream region containing vanadia-titania first (substantially free of volatile MoO3 species) under conditions form partially oxidized which is then introduced downstream metal molybdate second further oxidize any residual contained therein. another reactor aforementioned catalysts, respectively, utilized implement inventive yield product formaldehyde preferably at conversion 85 % selectivity 90 more.
