Aza-benzazolium containing cyanine dyes

摘要: Unsymmetrical cyanine dyes that incorporate an aza-benzazolium ring moiety are described, including substituted by a cationic side chain, monomeric and dimeric dyes, chemically reactive conjugates of dyes. The subject virtually non-fluorescent when diluted in aqueous solution, but exhibit bright fluorescence associated with nucleic acid polymers such as DNA or RNA, detergent-complexed proteins. A variety applications described for detection quantitation acids proteins samples, solutions, electrophoretic gels, cells, microorganisms.
