Strongyloides hyperinfection in a renal transplant recipient receiving cyclosporine: possible Strongyloides stercoralis transmission by kidney transplant

摘要: Strongyloides hyperinfection and dissemination are recognized complications in kidney allograft recipients; however, the development of strongyloidiasis renal transplant recipients receiving cyclosporine A (CyA) has not been described, nor other organ recipients. The former observation attributed to antiparasitic activity CyA seen animal studies; latter no explanation yet. We report first case a patient occurring immediately after was discontinued. From unique characteristics this case, it appears that anti-Strongyloides animals may also be found humans.
