摘要: THE decrease in turbulent friction1,2 caused by the addition of small amounts certain high molecular weight polymers to a fluid is still unexplained, although it seems be agreed that reduction felt chiefly region very close wall—the viscous sublayer. Recent investigations5 suggest large eddy structure sublayer characterized flow-oriented eddies6,7 with an average wavelength λ direction perpendicular mean flow and period τB defining interval between appearance bursts8,9.
